Living Room Wall Panel — What to Do When It Stops Working

The wall panel in the living room controls the lights, heating, and blinds. If the dashboard has stopped loading, a soft reboot of the panel usually fixes it in under a minute.

If the screen is blank, frozen, or not showing the controls, follow the steps below.

🔄 How to Soft Reboot the Panel

Step 1 — Tap the gear icon at the bottom of the screen

The gear icon (⚙️) is in the bottom row of icons. Tapping it opens the Settings screen.

Step 2 — Tap General

Step 3 — Scroll down and tap Reboot, then tap Yes

A confirmation box will appear. Tap Yes.

Step 4 — Tap Soft reboot

Another box will appear asking which type of reboot. Tap Soft reboot — this is the recommended option and is all you need.

Step 5 — Wait for it to restart

The screen will go to the Shelly logo while it restarts. This is normal — just wait.

Step 6 — The panel will come back

After about a minute the panel will return to the home screen, and then load the dashboard.

⚠️ If the Dashboard Still Doesn't Load After Rebooting

The panel needs Home Assistant to be running. If the panel restarts but the dashboard still won't load, check that Home Assistant is working:

  • Open Home Assistant via the phone app, or in a browser at http://192.168.1.12:8123 (at home) or https://ha.djchome.uk (anywhere)
  • If Home Assistant isn't loading either, see Home Assistant Isn't Responding

If Home Assistant is working fine but the panel still won't show the dashboard, contact Daniel.
