Common Issues

Simple fixes for common problems. No technical knowledge needed.

The Internet Isn't Working

First, check: Is it just one device or everything?

  • Just one device → restart that device (turn it off and on). Not a homelab problem.
  • Everything → go to the router, turn it off at the plug, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on. Wait 2 minutes. Try again.
  • Still not working → contact your internet provider. Not a homelab problem.

  • Beeping → take a photo of any lights or displays and contact Dan

I Don't Know What's Wrong

That's okay. Here's what to do:

  1. Take note of what you were trying to do and what happened
  2. Check if this documentation loads at the other address:
  3. Cloud:
  4. Local:
  5. Contact Dan with a description of what you observed

You don't need to fix everything. Some things are fine to leave until Dan is available.
